the case in the interest of justice and equity. 3. Counsel for the petitioner submits that, in an earlier round of litigation, this Court, in W.P. No. 1897/2009, by order dated 13.03.2020, quashed the order dated 19.11.2007 passed by the Assistant Commissioner and the order dated 03.11.2008 passed by the Deputy Commissioner. It is contended that the petitioner's vendor was a party to the said proceedings and, therefore, the benefit of the said order would enure to the petitioner as a subsequent purchaser. However, the revenue authorities, without properly considering this aspect, have declined to mutate the revenue records in favor of the petitioner on the ground that he was not a party to the earlier writ proceedings. Additional Government Advocate submits that appropriate orders may be passed. - 6 -

Counsel appearing for respondent Nos.6(A, B, D to F) and 6C(1 to 4), while urging additional grounds, submits that the petitioner was not a party to the earlier proceedings and, therefore, the action of the revenue authorities in declining to enter his name in the revenue records is justified. Accordingly, it is submitted that the petition is devoid of merit and is liable to be dismissed. 4. Heard the counsel for the parties and perused the material on record. 5. The issue involved in the present petition lies within a narrow compass and relates to the action of the revenue authorities in declining to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records in respect of the subject land. It is sufficient to note that the subject land was granted to one Sri.Guruva Bovi in 1960. He dealt with the property in 1970. Thereafter, resumption proceedings were initiated by the family members of the grantee in

2006 and 2007, pursuant to which the Assistant Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner passed the respective orders.
Ultimately, this Court, in W.P. No.1897/2009, quashed the orders passed by the Assistant Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner. It is relevant to note that the petitioner's vendor was a party to the aforesaid proceedings, though the petitioner himself was not a party thereto. The petitioner, being a subsequent purchaser from a party to the earlier proceedings, is entitled to claim the benefit of the order passed by this Court. Therefore, the action of the revenue authorities in declining to enter the petitioner's name in the revenue records solely on the ground that he was not a party to the earlier writ proceedings cannot be sustained in law. Accordingly, this Court is of the considered view that the order passed by this Court in W.P. No.1897/2009 shall

enure to the benefit of the petitioner, he being a subsequent purchaser. 6. In view of the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. Since this Court has already quashed the orders passed by the Assistant Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner in the earlier proceedings, there is no necessity to quash the said orders once again in the present proceedings. Consequently, the concerned revenue authorities are
directed to take appropriate steps, in accordance with law, to enter the name of the petitioner in the revenue records in respect of the subject land within a period of four weeks from the receipt of a copy of this order.
