Pudur Taluk, Tenkasi District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2026. 2.Heard Mr.K.Jeyamohan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner; Mr.S.Deenadhayalan, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, who accepts notice on behalf of the first respondent; and Mr.M.Mahaboob Athiff, learned counsel appearing for the second respondent. 2/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.18521 of 2026 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is the owner of the agricultural lands comprised in Survey Nos.59/1A2, 59/1A3, 81/1 and 81/2 situated at Marakkalankulam Village, V.K. Pudur Taluk, Tenkasi District. The petitioner had obtained a free agricultural electricity service connection for carrying out agricultural operations in the said lands. Apart from the free agricultural electricity service connection, the petitioner had also installed a solar power generation system. It is submitted that the petitioner's wife had erected an electric fence around the agricultural lands using electricity generated through the solar power system. However, the respondent Electricity Board disconnected the agricultural electricity service connection on the allegation that the electric fencing had been energized using the free agricultural electricity service connection. Seeking restoration of the service connection, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 19.06.2026. Since no orders have been passed on the said representation, the present Writ Petition has been filed seeking the aforesaid relief. 3/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.18521 of 2026 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner further submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2026 and pass appropriate orders within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 5.Per contra, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the first respondent submitted that the agricultural electricity service connection was disconnected since the petitioner had illegally erected an electric fence. He further submitted that the Forest Department has also registered a criminal case against the petitioner in connection with the death of a Sambar Deer allegedly due to electrocution. It is his further submission that, pursuant to the said incident, the Electricity Board disconnected the agricultural electricity service connection. He also submitted that appropriate orders, if not already served, would be served on the petitioner within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 4/6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.18521 of 2026 6.Recording the said submission, this Writ Petition is dismissed, granting liberty to the petitioner to work out his remedy in the manner known to law.
