By means of the present petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Vikasnagar, to expedite Election Petition No. 10 of 2025 (Annexure No. 1) within a time- bound period, preferably within six months. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn the attention of this Court to the orders passed by two Division Benches of this Court in the cases of Deeksha Negi vs. State of Uttarakhand and in the case of Neeru Chauhan vs. State of Uttarakhand (Annexure Nos. 3 and 4 respectively), as well as to the order dated 22.04.2026 passed by the Coordinate Bench of this Court in WPMS No. 1023 of 2026, Ashish Khatri vs. Prashant Kharola and others (Annexure No. 5), and submits that both the Division Benches as well as the Coordinate Bench of this Court have directed expeditious disposal of election petitions. 6. It is further submitted that the Election Tribunal is required to adhere to the provisions of Section 86 of the Representation of the People Act and, in fact, the Coordinate Bench of this Court, vide order dated 22.04.2026, directed expeditious disposal of the election petition positively within a period of six months from the date of production of a certified copy of the said order. 7. On the strength of the aforesaid orders and with reference to Section 86 of the Representation of the People Act, learned counsel for the petitioner prays that a direction be issued for expeditious disposal of the election petition. On a query being made, learned counsel for the respondents submits that they have no objection to the said prayer. 8. Since the prayer sought appears to be innocuous, and considering the orders passed by the Division Benches as well as the Coordinate Bench of this Court, coupled with the fact that the other side has no objection, the instant writ petition is disposed of finally with a direction to the Sub- Divisional Magistrate, Vikasnagar, to decide Election Petition No. 10 of 2025 positively within a period of six months from the date of production of a certified copy of this order. 9.
