The short point on which this petition is filed assails the condition imposed relating to escort, under order dated 06.05.2026, whereunder 6 days emergency leave has been granted to the petitioner’s husband Bharathi, S/o. Kumaresan, who is a convict lodged in Central Prison – I, Puzhal. 2. Mr.Malarvannan, learned counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side), appears for the respondents and states that the report of the Probation Officer was in favor of the petitioner which is why, he was granted leave in the first place. He also fairly states that there does not appear to be any other reason to impose the condition of escort. He also confirms that there is no adverse police report in the case of the convict. 3. In light of the aforesaid, order dated 06.05.2026, to the extent to which it imposes the condition of escort, is set aside. Bharathi, S/o. During the leave period, the convict shall report before the Inspector of Police, Santhavasal Police Station, Thiruvannamalai District, on every alternate day in the morning at 10.30 a.m. and shall abide by the prison Rules. 4.
