Page 2 of 6 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.No.1418 of 2026 2. The petitioner is holding a savings bank account with the fifth respondent in Savings Bank Account No.6347078191. While being so, the sixth respondent instructed the fifth respondent to freeze the said account in respect of a sum of Rs.46,800/- which was transferred to the petitioner’s account and also to mark lien over the petitioner’s account to the tune of Rs.46,800/-. Subsequently, by the communication dated 12.11.2025, the sixth respondent requested the fifth respondent to remove the mark hold / lien and to release Rs.46,800/- and to defreeze the petitioner’s account. Even then, the fifth respondent failed to permit the petitioner to operate his account and also failed to remove the lien over the petitioner’s account. 3. In view of the above, the fifth respondent is directed to consider the request made by the petitioner in the light of the communication dated 12.11.2025 of the sixth respondent and to remove the lien marked over the petitioner’s account to the tune of Rs.46,800/- and to permit the petitioner to operate his bank account within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
