Heard the learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner; Mr.R.Rajasekaran, the learned counsel for Government of Tamilnadu (Criminal Side) and Mr.K.Mahalingam, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the 2nd respondent. 3. It is brought to the notice of this Court that originally a FIR was registered as Crime No.9 of 2021, before the Inspector of Police, CCB Tambaram and the petitioner had filed a quash application in Crl.O.P.No.7861 of 2025 and the same was already dismissed as withdrawn. 4. Now, it is stated that the very same FIR has now been re-numbered upon transfer to the file of the CBCID Headquarters, Metro Wing – I, Chennai as FIR No.6 of 2025. 5. In view of the pronouncement of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in M.C. Ravikumar Vs. D.S. Velmurugan & Ors.1 that successive quash applications cannot be entertained in respect of the very same FIR and no 1 2025 SCC OnLine SC 1498 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 17113 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 liberty having been prayed for while withdrawing the earlier petition, this Criminal Original Petition cannot be entertained. However, the liberty of the petitioner with reference to the plea that is made that the FIR itself is the 3rd FIR in respect of the very same allegation, can all be placed before the investigating authority as the present FIR is said to have been registered pursuant to the direction of this Court in W.P.No.4751 of 2021 dated 28.04.2023.
