For Petitioner(s): Mr.K.Krishnan For Respondent(s): Mr.S.Yogaraja Sekar Government Advocate (Criminal side) ORDER The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 09.06.2026 for the alleged offences under Sections 61 (2), 318 (4), 319 (2), 340 (2) and 111 of BNS, 2023, read with 66 D of the Information Technology Act, 2000, in Crime No.43 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2. CRL OP No. 16815 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 defacto-complainant over phone and stated as if they belonged to ATS Department, TNPS Head quarters, Mylapore and further stated that the victim’s mobile phone has been used for the Bomb blast case in Delhi and called her to Patna for enquiry. Further, on the pretext of enquiry, the accused have collected the defacto-complainant’s credentials such as Aadhar Number, Bank account details and Fixed Deposit Details. Further, the accused have persuaded the defacto-complainant to transfer her money to three different bank accounts to the tune of Rs.1,71,50,000/-. Further the accused have received 45 sovereigns of her gold jewels in person, thereby cheated her. Hence the case. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been in custody since 09.06.2026. He further submitted that he is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court and he is ready to co-operate for investigation. Hence, he prays to grant bail to the petitioner. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case, submitting that this is a case of “digital arrest”. He further submitted that investigation is still pending.
