Today, when the matter is listed for hearing, the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) would submit that a third party submitted a petition raising a dispute with reference to pledging of jewels with the petitioner and only with regard to that, the petitioners were called to the police station for enquiry. 3. In reply to thereof, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that earlier, the very same complaint was lodged before R9, Valasaravakkam Police station and after due enquiry, they closed the said complaint in C.No.3246/COP/Visitor/2026, dated 06.05.2026, holding that the entire issue is civil in nature. Now, once again the respondent said that a third party is indulging in forum shopping by lodging a complaint before the respondent herein. 4. In view of the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, it is open to the petitioners to place the earlier closure report before the respondent police and they shall appear before the respondent police on 14.07.2026 at about 10.30 a.m. for enquiry and the respondent police shall complete the enquiry on the same day itself. __________ Page2 of 4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis 2026:MHC:2514 CRL OP No. 17000 of 2026 5.
