No. 1444 of 2026 __________ Page2 of 4 For Petitioner(s): Mr. S.Manikandan For Respondent(s): Mr.R.Ganesh Kumar Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu ORDER This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 1st respondent to provide adequate police protection to the Surveyor for conducting survey of the petitioners land comprised in New survey number S.F.No.85/12B, Sultan Street, Puliampatti Village, Gobichettipalayam, Erode district based on my representation letter dated 10.04.2026. 2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record. 3. The petitioner owned a land comprised in New survey number S.F.No.85/12B, Sultan Street, Puliampatti Village, Gobichettipalayam, Erode district. In order to survey the said land, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 14.02.2026 before the 1st respondents. Subsequently, when the revenue officials attempted to conduct survey on 11.04.2026, the private respondents, namely the 2nd respondents, who has no right over the subject property unlawfully interfered with the survey proceedings, threatened the petitioner, revenue officials and prevented the survey proceedings. WP Crl. No. 1444 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 seeking adequate police protection to the revenue officials to conduct survey and demarcation in the subject property. Since the said representation evoked no response, this writ petition has been filed by the petitioner. 4.
In view of the above, Surveyor is directed to survey the petitioner's aforesaid land based on the title deed produced by the petitioner, after issuance of notice to the adjacent land owners and counter parties, if any, and to serve the survey report to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is made clear that, if the surveyor concerned is obstructed by third parties while surveying the subject property, the said surveyor can approach the jurisdictional police seeking police aid and on such request, the jurisdictional police shall provide adequate police protection to the surveyor. 5.
