The case of the prosecution is that based on secret information, the respondent police found the petitioners threatening members of the public with a knife. Hence, the case was registered. 3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are innocent and have been falsely implicated. It is further submitted that they have been in judicial custody since 21.05.2026. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner. 4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police opposed the bail application on the ground that both the petitioners have several previous criminal cases. It is submitted that the first petitioner has six previous cases and the second petitioner has five previous cases, including offences under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), 1860, one of which is under Section 302 of IPC. 5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side. 6. Taking into consideration the criminal antecedents of both the petitioners, including the serious offences registered against them, this Court is of the firm view that if they are enlarged on bail, it would jeopardize the interest https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 16552 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 4 of society. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners. 7. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 30-06-2026 NSL To 1.
