CRL OP No. 16575 of 2026 ____________ Page No.2 of 4 For Petitioners: Mr.V.Elangovan ***** ORDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed for a direction to consider the petitioners’ bail application in connection with Crime No.142 of 2026 on the file of the 2nd respondent Police on their surrender and pass orders on merits on the same day. 2. The contention made on behalf of the petitioners is that the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has wrongly been invoked and that the petitioners are willing to surrender along with the bail application and that the contentions relating to the merits of the averments made is taken note of. 3. Considering the above and the totality of the circumstances, the following directions are issued: (i) the petitioners shall surrender before the Special Court for SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, Salem, and file a bail application with reference to Crime No.142 of 2026 and the same shall be considered on merits on the same day; https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis

Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
