The contention made on behalf of the petitioners is that the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 has wrongly been invoked and that the petitioners are willing to surrender along with the bail application and that the contentions relating to the merits of the averments made is taken note of. 3.
