Even in respect of the show cause notice dated 27.02.2026, the petitioner has replied, albeit, after the time limit specified in the show cause notice. The reason for not replying earlier is the assertion that the show cause notice was not received. The interest of justice warrants reconsideration under these facts and circumstances. 5.Therefore, impugned assessment order dated 23.03.2026 is set aside and the matter is remanded to the assessing officer. After providing a video conference hearing, a fresh assessment order shall be issued within three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.The writ petition is disposed of on the above terms. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 03-07-2026 Index: No Speaking order Neutral Citation: No hvk https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.14552 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 4 SENTHILKUMAR RAMAMOORTHY, J. hvk To The Assessment Unit, Income Tax Department, 121 MG Road, Nungambakkam, Chennai - 600 034.
