Ibotombi, learned senior counsel assisted by Ms. Y. Jinita, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr. Th. Sukumar, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents. [2] By the present writ petition, the four writ petitioners approach this Court for a direction to consider their admission in PG against the four seats earmarked for admission in PG course under JNIMS Scheme of 2022. It is submitted that in terms of the interim orders dated 28-11-2025 and 23-02- 2026, the petitioner Nos. 1, 2 & 4, i.e. Dr. G. Poufullung Kabui, Dr. Md. Firoz Khan and Dr. Khollung Longmei, have been given provisional admission in PG course in JNIMS and petitioner No. 3, Dr. Khaidem Tonny Singh, could not be considered for admission as he applied under UR category and produced OBC certificate at the time of counselling. In the circumstances, the State respondents filed MC(WP(C)) No. 377 of 2026 to allow provisional admission of petitioner Nos. 1, 2 & 4 for admission in PG course on regular basis and to dismiss the prayer for admission of petitioner No. 3, Dr. NINGOM BAM VICTORIA Digitally signed by NINGOMBAM VICTORIA Date: 2026.05.26 14:01:05 +05'30' Khaidem Tonny Singh. [3] Mr. N. Ibotombi, learned senior counsel for the petitioners, on instructions, specially from petitioner No. 3, submits that petitioner No. 3 may be permitted to withdraw from the writ petition with liberty to approach appropriate forum for his remedy and petitioner Nos. 1, 2 & 4 will pursue the remedy in the present writ petition and the connected application. [4] In the circumstances, MC(WP(C)) No. 377 of 2026 is allowed and the provisional admission of petitioner Nos. 1, 2 & 4 in PG course is treated as regular admission and petitioner No. 3, Dr. Khaidem Tonny Singh, is permitted to withdraw from the present writ petition with liberty to pursue his remedy before appropriate forum. [5] MC(WP(C)) No. 377 of 2026 is disposed of. [6] Mr. H. Debendra, learned Dy. Advocate General assisted by Ms. I. Sharmila Rahaman, learned counsel appearing in contempt petition, submits that in terms of the order passed in MC(WP(C)) No. 377 of 2026 and WP(C) No. 942 of 2025, the contempt petition may be closed. [7] Oral prayer is allowed and the contempt petition, i.e. CONT. CAS(C) No. 27 of 2026 is closed. [8] Mr. N. Ibotombi, learned senior counsel for the petitioners, submits that the writ petition may also be closed as the provisional admission of petitioner Nos. 1, 2 & 4 has been treated as regular admission and petitioner No. 3 has withdrawn from the writ petition. [9] However, Mr. Th. Sukumar, learned Government Advocate for the State respondents, prays for one week’s time to take instructions in this regard.
