02. 02. 29.09.2026 (D/L) (D/L) CT. NO. 05 CT. NO. 05 (ARPAN-A.R.CT.) In The High Court at Calcutta CONSTITUTIONAL WRIT Jurisdiction (Appellate Side) W.P.A. 21118 OF 2026 SUBHASHISH SINGHA VS. STATE OF WEST BENGAL AND OTHERS …………… Mr. Moyukh Mukherjee, Adv. Ms. Sagnika Banerjee, Adv. Ms. Sarmistha Basak, Adv. … For Petitioner Mr. Dibasish Basu, Adv. Ms. Sneha Dutta, Adv. Mr. Purnendu Das, Adv. …For State 1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record. 2. By presenting this writ petition prayer is made on behalf of petitioner for clubbing of investigations which are being continued against petitioner based on FIRs registered. 3. It is submitted by Mr. Moyukh Mukherjee, learned advocate representing petitioner that alleged incident pertaining to pending FIRs subsisting against petitioner revolves around supply of school uniforms and bags and as such there is no impediment if in a concerted manner investigations are carried out in connection with pending FIRs. In support of such contention reliance is placed on the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court reported in (2025) SCC OnLine SC 1164 (Ravinder Singh Sidhu vs. State of Punjab and Others). 4. Learned advocate representing State respondents has filed one communication dated 17th August, 2026 of Assistant Commissioner of Police, Detective Department, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate and [2] same is taken on record. Copy of the said communication dated 17th August, 2026 is made over to learned advocate representing petitioner. 5. It is disclosed in the said communication that total six FIRs are pending against petitioner, out of which in connection with two FIRs — Bidhannagar South P.S. Case No.190/2023 dated 25.07.2023 and Bidhannagar South P.S. Case No.106/2024 dated 12.06.2024 charge- sheets have been filed. 6. Clubbing of FIRs is found to be permissible in view of ratio laid down by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in Ravinder Singh Sidhu (supra). If four pending FIRs and investigations in connection therewith are clubbed, that will also be convenient for the petitioner. 7. In view of aforesaid consideration, concerned police authorities are directed to club those four pending criminal prosecutions subsisting against petitioner and take necessary steps in accordance with law for taking investigation to its logical conclusion at an early date. 8. Writ petition stands disposed of. 9. Parties to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court. (SAUGATA BHATTACHARYYA, J.)
