In Re: CRAN 1 of 2026 This is an application for restoration. Having regard to the averments made in this application for restoration, I am of the view that the petitioner has explained sufficiently the reason for her non-appearance before the Court on July 28, 2026. Accordingly, CRAN 1 of 2026 stands allowed. CRR 2922 of 2026 is restored to its original file and number.
In Re: CRR 2922 of 2026 Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner seeks expeditious disposal of G.R. Case No.232 of 2020 arising out of Lake Town Police Station Case No.56 of 2020 dated March 19, 2020 under Sections 420, 406, 323, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, presently pending before the Learned Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at Bidhannagar, North 24 Parganas.
2 It is submitted by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner that the charge-sheet in this case has been filed under Section 420, 406 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. He further submits that the charge-sheet was filed on November 30, 2020. It is submitted that even after more than 6 years from filing the charge- sheet, Learned Magistrate has not yet framed the charges in this case. It is submitted that the accused persons are seeking repeated adjournments. In that view of the matter, I dispose of the application with a direction upon the Learned Magistrate in the court below to conclude the charge hearing as soon as possible, preferably within a period of three months from date or by the next date fixed for hearing on November 4, 2026, whichever is earlier without granting any unnecessary adjournment to the parties. Accordingly, CRR 2922 of 2026 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
