Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that upon successful completion of work by the petitioner, his bill was withheld for which he approached this Court in a writ petition being WPA 1103 of 2025. By an order passed on 20th May, 2025 a co- ordinate Bench of this Court directed disbursal of the outstanding amount and granted liberty to the petitioner to renew his prayer for payment of interest on the outstanding amount after the said amount was paid.
Learned counsel submits that the principal outstanding amount has been paid by the authority. He seeks to pray for interest on the said amount.
2 On prayer of the petitioner, liberty is granted to submit a comprehensive representation before the Block Development Officer, Malbazar, being the 6th respondent herein, seeking interest on delayed payment of the dues, within a week from date. The 6th respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the same within two weeks from the date of receipt thereof upon affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to all concerned including the petitioner, in accordance with law. The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the petitioner within a week thereof. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to be admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
