Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj. 3. The petitioner claims to be a registered contractor engaged in the execution of civil works, and that he was entrusted with various works of the Panchayat Raj Department and the Roads & Buildings Department on a tender basis. It is the case of the petitioner that he was awarded a contract for execution of the works under GGMP Grant viz. (1) Construction of CC Road from Subramani house to Venkatesh house at Mittapalli of Ramakuppam Gram Panchayat in Ramakuppam Mandal under work ID No.PR-5428-29159 and (2) Construction of CC Road from Mani house to Markondappa house at Mittapalli of Ramakuppam Gram Panchayat in Ramakuppam Mandal underwork ID No.PR-5428-29164. It is the case of the petitioner that he executed the works to the satisfaction of the authorities concerned, and upon completion of the works, the respondents entered the same in the Measurement Books, and the value of the works were assessed at Rs.4,67,669/-. 4. It is the grievance of the petitioner that notwithstanding the completion of the works, the amount due towards the executed works has not been paid 4 till date. According to the petitioner, although the works were completed, the respondent authorities are not releasing the admitted amounts payable to him. Aggrieved by the non-payment of the said amounts, the petitioner filed the present Writ Petition. 5. Learned Assistant Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, on written instructions, from the Executive Engineer, PRI Division, Chittoor-5th respondent, submits that there is no dispute with regard to the execution of the works. She further submits that the petitioner is entitled to the amounts of Rs.4,31,799/- after statutory deductions of Rs.35,870/-, and that proposals for release of grant were submitted to the authorities concerned, and seeks time for payment of the said amount. The written instructions are placed on record. 6. Having regard to the fact that there is no dispute with regard to the works executed by the petitioner and the amount payable to him, and in view of the submissions of the learned Assistant Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, the respondent authorities are directed to pay a sum of Rs.4,31,799/- to the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
