The present writ petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondents to grant water supply connection to the petitioner at premises No. Z-165, Dr. Abdul Kabir Road, Kolkata-700044. 3. Having heard the learned advocates appearing for the respective parties and considering the objection raised by the respondents through the report of the Executive Engineer (water Supply) dated 15th September, 2026 which is taken on record, I am of the view, at this stage, it shall be prudent to direct the municipality to dispose of the petitioner’s representation dated 15th August, 2026, appearing at page No. 33 of the writ petition by passing a reasoned order. 4. It is made clear that this Court has not entered into the merits of the case and all points including the WPA 24552 of 2026 2 point of entitlement of the petitioner is kept open to be decided by the concerned authorities. 5. It is also made clear that decision in this regard must be taken by the authorities within a period of three weeks from the date of communication of this order. 6. All consequences shall follow. 7. Since no affidavit-in-opposition has been called for, the allegations made in the petition, are deemed not to have been admitted by the respondents. 8. With the above observations and directions, the writ petition is disposed of. (Raja Basu Chowdhury, J.)
