For Petitioner(s): Mr.A.Thirumaran ORDER The petitioner herein who was convicted by the trial court, namely the Judicial Magistrate, Fast Track Court at Magisterial Level, Ambattur in C.C.No.170 of 2019 for the offence under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, has preferred an appeal before the Principal District and Sessions Court at Tiruvallur and the said Court vide order dated 12.02.2026 in M.P.No.1 of 2026 in Criminal Appeal No.51 of 2026, had suspended the 1/3 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis CRL OP No. 10206 of 2026 sentence and directed the petitioner/accused to deposit 20% of the compensation amount before the trial court to the credit of C.C.No.170 of 2019 within a period of sixty days. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is unable to mobilise the fund within the stipulated period to make the deposit as directed by the Principal District and Sessions Court, Tiruvallur and hence he requested time to mobilise the funds. 3.Considering the submissions made and in the light of the facts and circumstances of the case, this court is of the considered view that the time can be granted to the petitioner to mobilize the funds. Accordingly, this petition is ordered and four weeks time from the date of receipt of copy of this order is granted to the petitioner to comply with the order dated 12.02.2026 made in M.P.No.1 of 2026 by the Principal District and Sessions Court, Tiruvallur.
