For Petitioner(s): P.Sathish Kumar For Respondent(s): Mr.M.Guruprasad Government Counsel ORDER This Writ Petition is filed for a Mandamus directing the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 15.04.2026 and reminder representation dated 12.06.2026 in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.63 and G.O.Ms.No.565 dated 27.01.2020 and 29.08.2008, Revenue and Disaster Management and to issue Joint Patta in favour of the petitioner. 2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that property measuring an extent of 64 cents comprised in S.No.2/5, Ward-B, https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24230 of 2026 __________ Page3 of 6 Block-II, T.S.No.61, situated at Mukthapudupet Village, Avadi Taluk, Tiruvallur District was acquired by later E.Devaraj, through a registered Released Deed executed in the year 1987 by the legal heirs of his father late S.Elumalai. After the demise of E.Devaraj on 08.01.2012, the petitioners succeeded to the property as his legal heirs. Upon applying for patta, the petitioner came to know that patta could not be issued since as per G.O.Ms.No.63 dated 27.01.2020 which provides for regularisation of lands purchased or acquired by innocent purchasers through registered instrument such as release deeds, partition deeds etc., and since late E.Devaraj acquired the property through registered release deed in the year 1987, the petitioners squarely fall within the ambit of the said Government Order and are entitled to seek regularisation and issuance of patta. Accordingly, the petitioners submitted detailed representations dated 15.04.2026 and 12.06.2026 requesting the authorities to consider their claim under G.O.Ms.No.63 and issue joint patta in their favour, but the petitioners representations have not been considered so far and hence, the present writ petition. 3. In reply, the learned Government Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner’s representations dated 15.04.2026 and 12.06.2026 will be disposed of by the 4th respondent within a period of eight weeks. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 24230 of 2026 __________ Page4 of 6 4. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Government Counsel for the respondents and also perused the materials available on record. 5. In view of the above, this Court directs the 4th respondent to consider the petitioner’s representations dated 15.04.2026 and 12.06.2026 in the light of G.O.Ms.No.565 dated 27.01.2020 and shall dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
