Present petition has been filed seeking for setting aside the letter dated 17th April, 2023 Assistant Secretary, Government of West Bengal, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, respondent No. 2 whereby the application of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate ground was rejected. 2. Pursuant to the filing of the writ the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer, Murshidabad filed a detailed report dated 24th February, 2025. 3. Perusal of the report indicates that along with the report the enquiry report of three men committee headed by Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector, Lalbagh, Murshidabad was filed. Committee had inter alia held that the prayer of the petitioner for employment in Die- in-harness quota may be considered. 4. Learned counsel for the respondent submits that the State shall consider the same in accordance with law. 5. Learned counsel submits that the present writ petition may be considered as representation by the Government and respondent No 3 District Panchayet Rural Development Officer, Murshidabad. 6. Let the appropriate officer of the State of West Bengal consider and decide the representation in accordance with law on compassionate basis after giving the parties an opportunity of being heard in accordance with law. 7. The Court urges the competent officer to decide the representation within the period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of this order in accordance with law. Parties should be given an opportunity of being heard. The authority shall communicate the decision to the concerned parties within two weeks of the order in writing. 8. With this observation this petition is disposed of. 2 9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all usual requisite formalities.
