Petitioners claiming to be owners of land comprising of Khasra Nos.87 and 88, situated at Village Suketar, Tehsil Dansal, Jammu, over which house and structure has been constructed, which had been used by the respondents for construction of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway and the petitioner’s property had been acquired vide Award dated 05.12.2024 by competent authority for land acquisition (Deputy Commissioner) Jammu and as per the Award roll, the petitioners have been held entitled to compensation assessed by the competent authority, however, the amount so assessed has not been released in favour of the petitioners so far, though the amount of compensation is stated to have been deposited with the competent authority by the indenting agency. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners shall be satisfied, in case, this petition is disposed of, at this stage, with a direction to the respondents to release the compensation for their acquired land, within certain time frame. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondents submit that the respondents shall not be averse to the consideration of the matter, as submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners. 4. In view of the pleadings, facts and circumstances and submissions urged by learned counsel for the petitioners, this petition is, disposed of, at its threshold, with a direction to the respondents to consider for release of compensation in favour of the petitioners for their acquired land for construction of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, in terms of Award dated 05.12.2024 passed by the competent authority for land acquisition-Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, expeditiously. 5.
