22 22.09.2026 Court No.24 pg. IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA CONSTITUTIONAL WRIT JURISDICTION APPELLATE SIDE WPA 12837 of 2026 Rita Ghosh Sarkar -versus The State of West Bengal & Ors. Mr. Sakti Pada Jana Mr. Subhajyoti Das … For the petitioner 1. Affidavits of service filed in Court today are taken on record. 2. The petitioner was serving as Headmistress in Sree Sarada Ramkrishna Balika Vidyapith (HS). She has been transferred in March 2025 to a different school. 3. She alleges that her service book and provident fund account have neither been updated nor forwarded to the District Inspector of Schools (SE), South 24-Parganas under whom she is currently serving. 4. Prayer has been made to direct the school authority to take steps for updating her service book and transfer her provident fund account. 5. None represents the respondents. 6. On a perusal of the documents annexed to the writ petition, it appears that the service book of the petitioner has not been updated since 2013. The school authority found several lapses on the part of the petitioner, including failure to upload the students’ 2 names on the portal, deduction of teachers’ medical allowances and un-updating the service book of other teachers after 2023. For such reason, the school was unable to forward her service book and other related documents. 7. Admittedly, the petitioner has been transferred. She will not be in a position to update the documents of the earlier school at present. Accordingly, the District Inspector of Schools (SE), South 24- Parganas is directed to grant an opportunity of hearing to the representative of the erstwhile school and the petitioner to resolve the issue. 8. The representative of Sree Sarada Ramkrishna Balika Vidyapith (HS), being the respondent nos.4 and 5, are directed to render all necessary cooperation to the District Inspector of Schools for the purpose of updating the service book of the petitioner and for transferring her provident fund account. 9. Steps shall be taken by the District Inspector of Schools at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 10. The writ petition stands disposed of. 11. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 3 12. Certified server copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on compliance of all requisite formalities. (Amrita Sinha, J.)
