Ms. Punam Basu, Mr. Amritansu Sengupta, Ms. Sulagna Sen ….for the petitioner. Mr. Raj Mohan Chattoraj ….for the State. 1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of petitioner is taken on record. 2. It is submitted by learned advocate representing petitioner that petitioner being mother of respondent no.5 and mother-in-law of respondent no.4 was physically assaulted and threatened by said respondent nos.4 & 5. Narrating plight of petitioner a complaint was lodged before concerned police authorities resulting in registration of FIR thereby giving rise to Kalyani Police Station Case No. 953/26 dated 14th August, 2026. Petitioner prays for protection apprehending further assault and threat by respondent nos.4 & 5. 3. State respondents are represented by learned advocate who has filed a communication dated 10th September, 2026 of Inspector-in-Charge, Kalyani Police Station, and same is taken on record. Copy of communication dated 10th September, 2026 is made over to learned advocate representing petitioner. 4. It is disclosed in said communication dated 10th September, 2026 that after initiating aforesaid criminal prosecution notices under Section 35(3) of BNSS, 2023 were issued to accused persons but they failed to comply with those notices. Efforts are on to apprehend respondent no.4. However, respondent no.5 was arrested on 4th September, 2026 and he was produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate on 5th September, 2026. 5. As it is disclosed in communication dated 10th September, 2026 that investigation is going on in Kalyani Police Station Case No. 953/26 dated 14th August, 2026, concerned police authorities are directed to take the investigation to its logical conclusion at an early date and submit report before jurisdictional Magistrate. 6. However, police authorities are also directed to provide protection to petitioner, if occasion so arises. 7. Writ petition stands disposed of. 8.
