Ms. Rituparna De Ghose, Ms. Srilekha Chattopadhyay. ..for the State. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners submits as follows. Earlier, the petitioners were falsely implicated in a case for allegedly assaulting the present victim and his son. They have now been falsely implicated for a suicide that was committed by the present victim. There is a delay in lodging the FIR. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State strongly opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail and submits as follows. She relies on the statements of witnesses and the postmortem report. She submits that on 14.03.2025, the victim and his son were beaten up severely by the present petitioners. An FIR was lodged. Thereafter, the present petitioners started pressurizing the victim to withdraw the case and settle the matter. The victim was called to meet them and after he went out, he was found missing and his body was found hanging from a tree. 2 Considering the above and the other incriminating materials available in the case diary, I do not consider this to be a fit case for granting anticipatory bail. The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected.
