For the Petitioners Mr. Mrinal Kanti Sardar …. For the State Affidavit of service filed by the petitioners is taken on record. The petitioners are members of Chandipur Gram Panchayat and seek a direction upon the police authority to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority for the meeting fixed for election of the new Pradhan on 29th September, 2026. In view of the fact that the meeting for election of new Pradhan has been fixed on 29th September, 2026, the Officer in Charge, Dholahat Police Station, being the 4th respondent herein, is directed to render necessary assistance to the Prescribed Authority so that the meeting is held peacefully without any disturbance from any corner whatsoever. The police authority shall ensure safe passage of the members of the Panchayat to the venue of meeting in order to enable them to cast their votes freely, safely and independently. 2 The writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit has been invited, allegations contained in the writ petition shall be deemed not to have been admitted.
