1. The learned Additional Government Pleader has tendered a Report in the form of an Affidavit sworn by the Deputy Magistrate and Deputy Collector, Hooghly.
2. The issue of unauthorised/illegal sale of fake lottery tickets is now a subject-matter of a serious enforcement drive. Surprise raids are carried out and the State Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to curb the unauthorised sale and Circulation of fake lottery tickets, not only in the Chandannagar Commissionerate, but overall, in the whole State of West Bengal.
3. We have perused the contents of the Report/Affidavit filed by the learned Additional Government Pleader. The steps initiated are indicated in the said Report. It is also informed that this would be a continuous drive for ensuring that fake lottery tickets are not sold and gullible people are not made to suffer any financial loss.
4. Learned Advocate for the Petitioner has perused the said Report and submits that the Authority should also pursue such measures in future.
5. In view of the above and by consent of the parties, this PIL is
disposed off.
