The petitioners have filed this writ petition praying for, inter alia, a writ commanding the Additional District Sub- Registrar, Nabagram, Murshidabad to forthwith allow the petitioners to act as identifiers of deeds at the time of registration of such deeds. Learned Advocate representing the petitioners submits that the petitioners are registered law clerks from the West Bengal Law Clerks State Council under the provisions of Section 15 (3) of the West Bengal Law Clerks Act, 1977. He further submits that recently, the Additional Sub-Registrar at Nabagram declared that a few people, including the petitioners herein, would not be allowed to identify deeds for the purposes of registration of such deeds. Accordingly, by a letter dated September 22, 2025, the petitioners’ learned Advocate requested, inter alia, the Additional District Sub-Registrar at Nabagram to consider and allow the petitioners to identify deeds and present the same before such authority. 2 Learned Advocate representing the petitioners submits that the aforesaid demand justice notice dated September 22, 2025, has not yet been considered till date. He submits that there has been no reply or response to the aforesaid letter dated September 22, 2025. He prays for an order directing the respondent no. 5 to consider such representation. Learned State Advocate does not oppose such prayer. Accordingly, the respondent no. 5, i.e., the Additional District Sub-Registrar at Nabagram is directed to consider the representation dated September 22, 2025, appearing at page 26 of this writ petition, and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of intimation of this order by the petitioners. Since no affidavits are called for, the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to be admitted by the respondents. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order, duly downloaded from the official website of this Court Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of necessary formalities.
