22.09.2026 Ct. No. 17 D/L. 4 RANJAN MAT 1548 of 2026 IA NO: CAN 1 of 2026 AKHTAR HOSSAIN VS. SEMIARA KHATUN AND ORS. Mr. Saptangsu Basu Mr. Ramesh Dhara Mr. Gourav Banerjee ...........for the appellant Mr. Debabrta Saha Roy Mr. Subhankar Das Mr. Neil Basu Ms. Oindrilla Sarkar ...........for the respondents Mr. Kaustav Seal .......... for the State Affidavit of Service filed on behalf of the appellant be kept with the records. This is an appeal directed against an order dated 27.08.2026 extending the ad interim order till 15.12.2026. Briefly, the appellant being the private respondent in the writ petition is aggrieved by the ad interim order dated 06.04.2026 whereby the decision of Selection Committee concluding the writ petitioner as the most suitable candidate has been stayed. It is fairly submitted on behalf of the appellant that despite the order being unreasoned, in view of the long passage of time and pendency of the writ petition, the appellant is not challenging 2 the ad interim order and rather prays for speedy disposal of the writ petition. The fact that the ad interim order has been repeatedly extended on 13.04.2026, 24.06.2026, 12.08.2026 and 27.08.2026 respectively is causing severe prejudice and hardship on the appellant. In his usual fairness Mr. Saha Roy appearing on behalf of the writ petitioner/ private respondent has no objection in having the writ petition expeditiously disposed of. The State is also represented. In view of the submissions made on behalf of the parties, MAT 1548 of 2026 alongwith all connected applications stand disposed of by requesting the Learned Trial Court to expeditiously dispose of the writ petition without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
