The petitioner is aggrieved that his certificate to show that he is a legal heir of late Tapati Banerjee as her husband has not been issued by the concerned District Magistrate. 3. The said District Magistrate of Paschim Bardhaman, the respondent no. 3 herein, has taken steps directing the Police Authorities to cause an investigation and file a report. 4. It appears that the report has been filed. However, no steps have been taken thereafter. 5. The respondent no. 3 is directed to take necessary steps and if found eligible to issue the requisite certificate for legal heirship in favour of the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from date. 6. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of. 7. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. 8.
