Issue a writ of mandamus or any appropriate writ, order or direction directing the Respondents no. 2 & 3 to immediately process, approve and release the entire PAI claim amount payable under PAI Claim No. 580000/48/2025/00054533 in respect of Lt. Sh. Pravindra Lal in favour of the Petitioner; b. Award costs of the petition in favour of the Petitioner;” 2. The brief facts of the case are that the petitioner, Smt. Urmila Devi, is the wife of Late Lt. Pravindra Lal, who was employed with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and maintained a Defense Salary Package (DSP) account with State Bank of India (SBI). The said account was covered under a Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) scheme provided by The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd through Anand Rathi Insurance Brokers Ltd. 3. On 24.05.2024, the deceased met with a road accident and was initially treated at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital. An FIR (No. 134/2024 dated 25.05.2024) was registered at PS Delhi Cantt. under Sections 279/304A IPC. He was subsequently shifted to Saroj Super Specialty Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on 04.06.2024. 4. The petitioner duly informed all respondents and submitted all required documents for settlement of the PAI claim (Claim No. 580000/48/2025/00054533). 5. The petitioner was covered with the insurance policy from 04.04.2024 to 03.04.2025. Despite repeated requests, the petitioner did not receive the insurance claim amount. Hence, the present petition. 6. The learned counsels for the respondent Nos. 2 and 4 state that they have already complied with the requisite formalities for processing the claim of the petitioner. 7. The respondent No.3 will credit the amount with the respondent No.2 within 4 weeks from today and thereafter it shall be available to be used by the petitioner. 11. With these directions, the petition is disposed of. 12. In case the amount is not received, the petitioner will be at liberty to revive the petition.
