WPA 10581 of 2025
Manik Ghosh Vs. The State of West Bengal & Ors.
Mr. Shuvro Prokash Lahiri Mr. Ankan Mondal … for the Petitioner. Mr. Joydeep Banerjee Mr. Raja Ram Banerjee … for the State. Dr. Sutanu Kumar Patra Mr. Sunit Kumar Roy Ms. Supriya Dubey … for WBCSSC.
1. Learned advocate representing the Commission submits, upon instruction that, he has received oral instruction from the Chairman of the Commission that the application of the petitioner seeking extension of validity period of his recommendation letter was duly considered and rejected. The petitioner has not been formally intimated such rejection as the Rule does not require personal intimation to the candidates if the prayer for extension of the validity period is rejected.
2. The validity period of the recommendation letter dated 17th December, 2024 expired long back. At such a late point of time, there is hardly any scope to grant any relief to the petitioner.
3. The writ petition fails and is hereby dismissed.
4. The Commission, however, is directed to communicate the petitioner the reason for rejection of his prayer within a period of six weeks.
