The petitioner is aggrieved that the application for compassionate appointment, made after the death of her father, sometime in 2011, has not been considered by the concerned District Inspector of Schools (D.I.). The petitioner further submits that at the material point of time, i.e. in 2012, the District of Burdwan was undivided, which has presently been bifurcated into two separate districts. 2. Consequently, the papers pertaining to the petitioner’s application are untraceable, as indicated in the report filed by respondent no. 5, the D.I., which is taken on record. 3. The report also specifies that there are certain difficulties in considering the application of the petitioner, in view of the fact, that there is a second application from the same family, being made by the brother of the petitioner. Thus, the petitioner and her brother have both applied for compassionate appointment on the ground of the expiry of their father. 4. In view of the afore-stated fact, that the application has not been considered at all, the respondent no. P a g e | 2 5, the District Inspector of Schools (SE), Purba Burdwan, is directed to consider both the applications strictly in consonance with G.O. No. 697-ES/S/IS-18/08 dated 09.07.2009, and any other orders and notifications that may be applicable, in accordance with law. 5. If the D.I., finds that there are any missing papers or seeks requisite documents, he shall be at liberty to call for the same from the petitioner and her brother. 6. This entire exercise will be completed by 15.06.2026. 7. With the afore-stated direction, the writ-petition is disposed of. No order as to costs. (Reetobroto Kumar Mitra, J.)
