The petitioner is an accused in connection with Hunterganj P.S. Case No. 20 of 2025. It has been alleged that the accused persons have demolished the house of the petitioner resulting in his loss worth Rs.2 lacs. An amount of Rs.10 lacs was also demanded from the petitioner as extortion money. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioner that no specific role has been assigned to the petitioner. It has further been submitted that the petitioner is in custody since 06.11.2025. Learned A.P.P. as well as learned counsel appearing on behalf of the opposite party no.2 have opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner and has submitted that the involvement of the petitioner in the demolition of the house of the informant as well as demand of extortion money is apparent. Regard being had to minimal role played by the petitioner as per the allegations and the period of custody undergone by the him, the petitioner is directed to be released on bail on furnishing 2026:JHHC:8377 bail bond of Rs.10,000/- (Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned J.M., 1st Class, Chatra in connection with Hunterganj P.S.
