The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was convicted by the trial Court by judgment dated 11.02.2026 and is confined in prison. The delay of 64 days in filing the appeal is neither willful nor wanton. It was further submitted that the appeal is a statutory appeal and therefore, the delay may be condoned. 3. The learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) submitted that he has no serious objection to allowing the petition. 4. This Court has considered the submissions made on either side.
