1. Ms. Mithu Sarkar, who is the Secretary to the Central Government Industrial Tribunal (CGIT), is present in Court today. There is no office of the Registrar with the CGIT.
2. It is apprised that there is no regular Presiding Officer in the CGIT, Kolkata since 28th March, 2025.
3. This Court is appalled to note the above state of affairs. It is difficult for this Court to accept that the Central Government has not found suitable Presiding Officer for the C.G.I.T. at Kolkata for more than a year till date.
4. It is expected that appointment of Presiding Officer to the C.G.I.T. at Kolkata is expedited. All urgent and immediate steps should be taken to appoint such Presiding Officer.

5. Let a copy of this order be sent by the Registry to the Secretary, Labour and Employment and the Secretary, Ministry of Law of the Central Government.
6. Having regard to the above, this Court orders that the C.G.I.T. shall take up the claim of the applicant and dispose of the same within six months of appointment of a new regular Presiding Officer, at C.G.I.T. at Kolkata.
7. The personal presence of Ms. Mithu Sarkar, Secretary of the C.G.I.T. is dispensed with.
8. Accordingly, CRC 19 of 2026 is disposed of.
9. Rule, if any, shall stand discharged.
10. There shall be no order as to costs.
11. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order and duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. (Rajasekhar Mantha, J.)
