Mr. Kalyan Kumar Bhattacharjee Ms. Sahina Khatun ……….for the Appellant No.1/ Applicant in CRAN 8 of 2026 Mr. Kaushik Dey Mr. Narayan Debnath ……….for the State In re : CRAN 7 of 2026 This is an application for relaxation of conditions of bail which was granted to the applicants/petitioners by a Coordinate Bench on December 16, 2025. One of the conditions of bail was that the applicants/petitioners shall meet the Inspector-in- charge/Officer-in-charge, Kakdwip Police Station once a fortnight till the disposal of the appeal. The applicants/petitioners now pray for relaxation of such condition. 2 The State has filed a report as regards compliance of the bail conditions by the applicants/petitioners. There is nothing adverse in the report. It appears that the applicants/petitioners have been complying with the conditions of bail. In view of the aforesaid, taking a humanitarian view and a lenient approach, we modify the aforesaid condition of bail to the extent that the applicants/petitioners shall report to the Inspector-in-charge/Officer-in-charge of the Kakdwip Police Station once a month until further orders or till the disposal of the appeal, whichever is earlier. The other conditions of bail remain unaltered. The application, being CRAN 7 of 2026, is disposed of All parties shall act in terms of the server copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court. In re: CRAN 8 of 2026 This is an application for relaxation of conditions of bail which was granted to the petitioner by a Coordinate Bench on November 27, 2025. Some of the conditions of bail were that the applicant would remain within the territorial jurisdiction of Patharpratima Police Station except for the purposes of attending Court proceedings but shall not enter the territorial jurisdiction of Kakdwip Police Station and that he would meet the Inspector in charge/Officer in charge, Patharpratima Police Station once every fortnight until further orders. The applicant prays for relaxation the aforesaid conditions. 3 The State has filed a report as regards compliance of the bail conditions by the applicant. There is nothing adverse in the report. It appears that the applicant has been complying with the conditions of bail. In view of the aforesaid, taking a humanitarian view and a lenient approach, we modify the aforesaid conditions of bail to the extent that the applicant shall reside at 11 No. Ganeshpur, 3rd Gheri, North (Hostel More), P.S. - Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas, as indicated and prayed for, and that the applicant/petitioner shall report to the Inspector-in- charge/Officer-in-charge of the Kakdwip Police Station once a month until further orders or till the disposal of the appeal, whichever is earlier. The other conditions of bail remain unaltered. The application, being CRAN 8 of 2026, is disposed of.
