Challenging the order of the learned Single Judge granting 30 days' time to the respondent to cut and remove the babool trees, the appellants have filed the present writ appeal. 2. The respondent was the successful bidder in a tender invited for cutting and removing the said babool trees. However, the respondent deposited only one-third of the bid amount, whereas the remaining two- thirds was required to be paid within 30 days from the date of declaration of his success in the tender. The respondent failed to remit the balance amount within the stipulated period, i.e., on or before 18.03.2024. Thereafter, the respondent took a further 87 days to execute the agreement. Though the final date fixed for completion of the work was originally 31.08.2024, the respondent submitted a representation on 08.09.2024 seeking extension of time. However, the third respondent 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WA(MD)No.896 of 2026 refused to grant any extension. Aggrieved by the same, the respondent filed W.P. (MD) No. 3760 of 2026. The learned Single Judge, by order dated 05.03.2026, allowed the writ petition and granted an extension of 30 days to complete the work. Challenging the said order, the present writ appeal has been filed. 3. We have heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record. 4. The learned Single Judge, taking into consideration the fact that the removal of the babool trees would be beneficial to both the petitioner and the Government, granted a further period of 30 days to complete the work. We find no infirmity, illegality, or perversity in the order passed by the learned Single Judge warranting interference in this appeal. Accordingly, the writ appeal stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
