16.09.2026 IN THE HIGH COURT AT CALCUTTA Item No.30 CRIMINAL MISCELLANEOUS JURISDICTION Ct.No.35 dc. Rejected C.R.M. (NDPS) 1943 of 2026 In Re : An Application for bail under Section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 filed in connection with Nabagram Police Station Case No. 352 of 2024 dated 23.07.2024 under Sections 20(b)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. And In Re : Kartik Pally and another ... Petitioners. Mr. Arnab Chatterjee, Mr. Avik Ghosh ... For the Petitioners. Mr. Ayan Basu, Mr. Gautam Banerjee ... For the State. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that petitioners were arrested on 23.07.2024; the accusations against the petitioners are to the effect that from a Bolero Pickup Van, 146.042 kgs. of Ganja was recovered. However, till date, only 6 witnesses have been examined, although the prosecution has relied upon 17 witnesses in support of its case. Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail in view of the huge quantum of seizure and the fact that seizure list witnesses are yet to be examined. State is directed to complete the evidence of seizure list witnesses within a period of one month from the next date fixed. 2 At this stage, the prayer for bail of the petitioners is rejected. Petitioners will renew their prayer for bail after the aforesaid time period is over. The application for bail, being CRM (NDPS) 1943 of 2026, is, thus, dismissed. All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities. (Tirthankar Ghosh, J.)
