The petitioner has submitted an application before the District Election Officer for consideration of the case of the petitioner for inclusion of the name of the petitioner in the electoral roll on March 6, 2026 and July 9, 2026 but the District Election Officer has not considered the representation of the petitioner till date. 2. This Court finds that the petitioner has already made the representation to the District Election Officer for consideration of the case of the petitioner for inclusion of the name in the voter list and the same is pending before the concerned authority. 3. In view of the above, the District Election Officer, North 24 Parganas, Barasat is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated March 6, 2026 and July 9, 2026 as early as possible after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of this order and if the authority finds that the petitioner’s name is to be included in the voter list, the same may be done within a week thereafter. If the authority finds that 2 the name of the petitioner could not be included in the voter list, the authority shall pass a reasoned and speaking order and to furnish the said order to the petitioner within a week thereafter. 4. WPA 16930 of 2026 is disposed of. 5. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities. (Krishna Rao, J.)
