1. The petitioners have filed the present writ application on the grievance that the petitioners are the senior citizens and have made their respective applications before the Sub-Divisional Officer, Arambagh, Hooghly praying for a direction upon the respondent no. 6, the son for payment of monthly maintenance but in spite of receipt of the representation submitted by the petitioners, the Sub- Divisional Officer has not taken any steps by passing any order for grant of maintenance. He prays that the petitioners will be satisfied if this Court will dispose of the present writ application by directing the Sub- Divisional Officer, Arambagh, Hooghly, i.e., the respondent no. 5 to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner no. 1 and the petitioner no. 2 dated February 5, 2026 and May 9, 2026.
2. Considered the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioners.
3. This Court finds that the request made by the petitioners being the senior citizens to the Sub-Divisional Officer, Arambagh, Hooghly for a direction upon the respondent no. 6 who is the son of the petitioners for grant of maintenance but the Sub-Divisional Officer, Arambagh,
2 Hooghly has not considered the request made by the petitioners till date.

In view of the above, the respondent no. 5, the Sub- Divisional Officer, Arambagh, Hooghly is directed to consider the representations submitted by the petitioners and after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners as well as the respondent no. 6 to dispose of the same as early as possible preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of this order.
5. WPA 7512 of 2026 is disposed of.
6. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all the necessary formalities.
