JUSTICE ANANT RAMANATH HEGDE ORAL ORDER Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned High Court Government Pleader for respondent No.1. 2. This petition is filed to quash the complaint dated 11.07.2026 filed by respondent No.2 before the Jayanagara Police Station, Shivamogga. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the contents of the complaint do not disclose any offences against the petitioner. The complainant has referred to the transaction between Ramareddy and Gnanesh. As such, the registration of FIR against the petitioner is impermissible. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner would also submit that, Kariyappa has not filed any complaint against the petitioner. Whether the amount was really credited to the account of Kariyappa and the amount was withdrawn from the account of Kariyappa and if so, why Kariyappa has not lodged a complaint are all matters to be considered. The Court has considered the contentions raised and also perused the contents of the complaint dated 11.07.2026. 6. It is evident from the contents of the complaint that the complainant has made an allegation that the petitioner and Ramareddy allegedly collected Rs.50,000/- from the complainant and thereafter withdrew Rs.10,00,000/- from the account of one Kariyappa. It is also alleged in the complaint that when the complainant confronted the petitioner about the transactions, the petitioner allegedly abused the complainant and referred to her caste and insulted the complainant. On these allegations, the complaint is filed. 7. It is also stated that, when the alleged incident took place, certain persons named in the complaint were present. 8. The Court is of the view that the matter requires investigation. After investigation, the police will have to file an appropriate report.
