2. By way of this petition, the petitioner has, inter alia, prayed for the following reliefs:-
“ 1. Issue a writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to release: (a) Arrears of revised pension calculated on 7th Pay Commission basis effective from 01.01.2016 and payable from 01.08.2020 till date; (b) Balance revised retirement gratuity amounting to Rs. 3,24,323/- (or recalculated amount); (c) Commuted value of pension amount to Rs.8,25,916/-; Direct the respondents to pay interest @ 18% per annum on delayed payment from the date the amounts became due till realization; (d) Award costs of the petition in favour of the petitioner.”

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has retired almost six years back, yet his retiral benefits 1 Whether reporters of the local papers may be allowed to see the judgment?
2 2026:HHC:6541 have not been released in his favour. He has also referred to Annexure P-4 and submitted that the marriage of the daughter of the petitioner is to be solemnized in the month of May, 2026 and the petitioner requires money to make arrangements thereof. Accordingly, he submitted that the respondents be directed to pay due and admissible retiral benefits alongwith interest including commuted pension etc.

In light of the submissions made by learned Counsel for the petitioner as also on the basis of the perusal of the documents appended with the petition, this petition is disposed of with the direction that the due and admissible retiral benefits including commuted pension etc. and gratuity be positively released in favour of the petitioner on or before 20.04.2026. The Court is passing this
order in light of the fact that the documents demonstrate that the marriage of the daughter of the petitioner is to be solemnized in the month of May, 2026 and obviously for that purpose the petitioner requires money. Pending miscellaneous application(s), if any also stand disposed of accordingly.
