The writ petitioner complains of inaction on the part of the respondent WBSEDCL authorities in effecting electricity supply to the petitioner’s submersible pump. 2. Mr. Chattopadhyay, learned advocate appearing for the WBSEDCL authorities submits that the petitioner’s application could not be processed since upon inspection it was found that the area whereat the petitioner seeks to operate her submersible pump, is suffering a low voltage problem. It is submitted that all applications in respect of such area have been kept on hold since the WBSEDCL authorities are in the process of commissioning a 25 KVA distribution transformer for the purpose of augmenting the supply network in such area. 3. It is further submitted that upon the offset of the monsoon season, the work is expected to the completed. 2 4. Mr. Chattopadhyay submits that once the transformer is installed, all the applications would be processed in accordance with law. 5. In view of such submission this writ petition is disposed of by directing the WBSEDCL authorities to process the petitioner’s application for electricity supply to the petitioner’s submersible pump in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the end of September, 2026. 6. Needless to mention that the petitioner would be granted supply of electricity only if the petitioner is found entitled thereto, in accordance with law, subject to the petitioner complying with all necessary formalities. 7. Accordingly, WPA 23931 of 2026 stands disposed of. No Costs. 8. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties subject to compliance with all requisite formalities. (Om Narayan Rai, J.)
