The petitioner herein purchased a property to an extent of 4.77 acres in S.No.44/1, another 17 ½ cents in the same survey number and owned a land comprised in Survey No.79/1A and 79/1D2 measuring a total extent of 0.72 cents and 0.30 cents situated at Thethigiripatti Village, Mettur Taluk, Salem District. In order to survey the said land, the petitioner submitted an application before the second respondent and also paid requisite fees for the same. However, when the second respondent deputed a surveyor to survey the said land, the surveyor was https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.Crl.No.1420 of 2026 objected by respondents 5 to 9 from surveying. Hence, this writ petition. 3. Heard, the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Counsel for Government of Tamil Nadu (Criminal Side) appearing for respondents 1 to 4. 4. If the surveyor faces any difficulty at the hands of respondents 5 to 9 while surveying the petitioner’s aforementioned land, he may seek police protection and on such request, the third respondent is directed to conduct enquiry after issuance of notice to the petitioner and counter parties and giving them opportunity of personal hearing and to pass orders in respect of providing police protection while surveying the land, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of the request from the surveyor concerned. 5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of.
