The petitioner is a retired employee of the Calcutta State Transport Corporation (CSTC). He retired from service on June 30, 2025 upon attaining the age of superannuation. 3. The petitioner prays for interest on account of delayed payment of his Leave Salary and Gratuity which have been paid belatedly. 4. In view of the above, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Managing Director of the Calcutta State Transport Corporation to pay interest on the delayed payment of the terminal benefits of the petitioner calculated at the rate of six percent per annum payable on and from the next date of retirement till the date of actual payment within a period of twelve weeks from the date of communication of this order. 5. At the time of extending the benefits as aforestated 2 towards interest on delayed payment of terminal benefits, if required, the State authorities shall provide the necessary funds to the CSTC. 6. With the afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of. 7. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. 8. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties on priority basis. (Reetobroto Kumar Mitra, J.)
