Hon'ble Ravindra Maithani, J. (Oral) The petitioner claims that he is a contractor who had been working with the Forest Department and was carrying on business with the said department. However, the respondents have restrained the petitioner from dealing with the Forest Department on the ground that he was involved in a forest case, namely Crime No. 8/2012–13. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that with respect to Crime No. 8/2012–13, although a forest case was registered against the petitioner, the matter was filed in the court after considerable delay and the court declined to take cognizance of the same. Despite this, the respondents/authorities have continued to prevent the petitioner from dealing with the Forest Department. It is further submitted that the petitioner has already submitted a representation before respondent no. 4 in this regard. 3. In paragraph no. 6 of the writ petition, it has been 2026:UHC:304-DB 2 categorically stated that the earlier work orders granted in favour of the petitioner were stopped solely on account of the lodging of Crime No. 8/2012–13. It is also admitted that the said case did not proceed beyond the stage of cognizance, as the court refused to take cognizance on the ground of limitation. 4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner has already given a representation dated 09.12.2025 (Annexure No. 7 to the writ petition) to the respondent no. 4/Divisional Logging Manager, Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation, Eastern Haldwani, however, no decision has been taken on it. 5. At it, learned counsel for the respondents submits that the representation dated 09.12.2025 (Annexure No. 7 to the writ petition) submitted by the petitioner to the respondent no.4 shall be decided within a period of two weeks from today. 6. The Court takes on record the statement of the learned counsel for the respondents. 7. The writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the respondent no. 4/Divisional Logging Manager, Uttarakhand, Eastern Haldwani to decide the representation dated 09.12.2025 filed by the petitioner (Annexure No. 7 to the writ petition) within a period of two weeks from today.
