POONACHA ORAL ORDER The present writ petition is filed seeking for the following reliefs: "a) Issue a writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing Respondent No.2 Bank to forthwith de-freeze Current Account No.409002400755 maintained with Respondent No.2 - Bank; as per vide the representation dated 15.6.2026 Annexure-D; b) Direct the respondents to permit normal operation of the petitioner's bank account subject to retention of the disputed amount of Rs.19,093.12 (Rupees Nineteen thousand Ninety Three and paise Twelve only)already secured by way of lien; c) Grant such other relief or reliefs as this Hon'ble Court deems fit in the facts and circumstances of the case, including costs of these proceedings." It is the case of the petitioner that a cumulative sum of Rs.19,093.12 has been received by the petitioner from an unknown person. Subsequently, the entire bank account of the petitioner has been frozen. That although the petitioner gave a representation dated 15.06.2026 (Annexure-D to the writ petition) to the second respondent - bank, to permit the petitioner to operate the bank account, the same has not been responded to. Hence, the present petition is filed. 3. Having regard to the admitted position that the petitioner has received only a sum of Rs.19,093.12, the second respondent - bank is directed to permit the petitioner to operate the Current Account No.409002400755 that the petitioner has with the second respondent - bank by marking a lien of a sum of Rs.19,093.12/-. This order will not come in the way of the second respondent - bank acting on any other communication that it may receive from other authorities for marking of lien or attaching the bank account of the petitioner, other than the transaction that is the subject matter of the present writ petition. 5. The second respondent - bank de-freeze the bank account of the petitioner and permit its operation in terms of para 3 of this order forthwith, in any event not later than one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.
