01. Petitioners, claiming to be the owners of some part of the land measuring 680 Kanal and 16 Marlas situated at Village Rehambal, Tehsil & District Udhampur which has been proposed to be acquired on requisition for defence purpose under RAIP Act, 1952 and submits that respondent No. 6-Collectorate, had already proceeded in the matter, however, final award is being delayed to be passed and prayed that the respondents be directed to finalise requisition and acquisition proceedings initiated in accordance

with the Requisition and Acquisition of Immovable Property (RAIP) Act, 1952 qua land owned by the petitioners which is under their possession since1950 with further direction upon the respondents to pay to the petitioners adequate compensation for the continuous and long possession of the property belonging to the petitioners despite issuance of Form-I and Form-J and as per the cost assessment which has been sent to the respondents, within a stipulated time.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the names of the petitioners figured in the proceedings and prays that the petitioners shall be satisfied in case, this petition is disposed of at this stage, with direction to respondent No. 6 to finalise the acquisition of the land initiated in terms of the RAIP Act, 1952.
03. In view of the pleadings and submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioners, this petition is disposed of at this motion stage with direction to respondent No. 6 to conclude expeditiously, the acquisition proceedings and pass final award strictly as per the mandate of the Act.
04. Petition, is thus, disposed of, along with connected application(s).
