The instant writ petition has been filed by a candidate who was recommended for the post of Assistant Teacher (Classes XI-XII) in the subject Computer Science in March, 2026 by the West Bengal Central School Service Commission. 2. The petitioner has prayed for a direction upon the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the school to issue appointment letter in her favour. 3. Learned advocate representing the Commission submits that in view of the changed circumstances with regard to the OBC reservation, the entire list of selected candidates has to be revisited by the Commission for maintaining the reservation. Under such circumstances, it will not be possible to take 2 further steps on the recommendation letter which the petitioner intends to be acted upon. 4. It has also been submitted that the writ petition is premature. Mere issuance of a recommendation letter does not give rise to any right in favour of the petitioner. 5. Upon hearing the submissions made on behalf of all the parties and on perusal of the documents on record, it appears that the recommendation letter in favour of the petitioner was issued in March, 2026. Thereafter a fresh list has been published by the State in whose favour reservation under the OBC category can be allowed. The Commission would be bound to follow the roster for the purpose of issuance of appointment letter maintaining reservation. 6. The Commission has taken a decision to revisit the entire list of selected candidates. Necessary notice in this regard has been published in the official portal of the West Bengal Central School Service Commission. 7. It will be open for the petitioner to follow the public notices issued in the website of the Commission. 8. The Commission shall take necessary steps in the matter for conclusion of the selection process strictly in accordance with law. 9. The writ petition stands disposed of. 3 10. All parties shall act on the basis of a server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 11.
